Why Good Gifting is Good Business: Perspectives from Academic and Industry Leaders

Gift giving is big business. Over a quarter of a trillion dollars spent on gifts annually in the US alone, there is good reason to understand what academia has learned about the enterprise of gift giving and how industry is approaching this massive market. In this webinar, Jeff Galak (CMU) will moderate a discussion between Julian Givi (WVU) and Nivi Chakravorty (myRegistry.com) on the latest research related to gift giving, industry trends in how retailers are approaching gift giving, and will provide novel ideas on how all parties can work together to help better understand this marketplace. We will welcome questions from all audience members, and encourage you to submit your thoughts on where gift giving sits in the retail ecosystem and what questions you have about how to both better understand gift giving from a research perspective and how to capitalize on that knowledge in your work. You can submit your questions during the webinar, or, better yet, send them in advance to msievents@msi.org.
