How my research impacts research practice
My research explores consumer lay theories and inference making, self-perceptions, and ethical decision making. Given my interest in consumer well-being, I have explored these theoretical interests in the substantive domains of food and health decision making and sustainability. Current projects continue to explore these areas, as well as online consumer behavior and consumer response to promotions. My research would be particularly relevant to marketers of sustainable/ethical products and to companies interested in understanding how different types of promotions produce unique psychological responses that can drive promotions.
How I have worked with businesses
I have done some consulting for brands interested in launching functional foods and sustainable products. I have also presented my research findings to groups of practitioners with different backgrounds (so, speaking engagements) and have occasionally done "expert interviews" with brands who just wanted to talk to me about my research for an hour or two to think about how they could use it.
How I like to collaborate
Probably speaking engagements and workshops. I'm also open to doing expert interviews. Shorter term engagements are better for me.
