During the session, the presenters will share the construct of a brand’s political positioning (PP)— the extent to which a brand’s image aligns with the perceptual profile of a major political party—they developed and examine its effects on firm performance in the aftermath of the 2016 US presidential election.

Natalie Mizik is Professor of Marketing and J. Gary Shansby Endowed Chair in Marketing Strategy at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. She has published research in top marketing, management, and accounting academic journals in a broad set of substantive areas, including Branding, Strategy, Managerial Myopia, Customer Satisfaction, and Direct-to-Physician Pharmaceutical Marketing. An award-winning teacher and researcher, Professor Mizik has previously served on the faculty of Columbia Business School, UNC, and as a visiting Associate Professor at MIT. She has served on the American Marketing Association Academic Council and as the Treasurer of the ISMS and as a Liaison Officer for the ISMS at INFORMS. She is the past Editor-in-Chief of the Marketing Letters.
